Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. She was the founder of The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage located in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001, and shortly thereafter , the company was sold. Corcoran was one of ABC's initial Shark investors, has been a part of every episode of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, she's signed 53 deals for the show, the largest one being $350,000 in 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a housewife. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father was a skilled worker throughout Corcoran's childhood. In times, her family relied on the delivery of food that was free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran claims her father was a drunken man who treated her mother with disrespectful and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran was a struggle in school and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran was a student at a Catholic elementary school in her community and started high school in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a degree in English after not completing several classes in her freshman years.
